Your motocross suspension is what keeps your bike performing whenever you take it out on the track. Your suspension directly impacts how well your bike handles and can also affect how fast you go and how much power your bike has. To keep your motocross suspension in the best possible condition, we recommend these tips:

3 Tips for Maintaining Your Motocross Suspension

  1. Keep the components clean—Cleaning up your motocross bike after every ride should already be part of your routine. But if it’s not, we want you to know that keeping your suspension parts lubricated and clean is essential. Every time you ride, grease the linkage and swingarm bearings and grease the shock.
  2. Change the fork oil—Changing your fork oil is one part of maintaining your motocross suspension that may get overlooked. Avoid riding until the seals leak and make sure you change your fork oil according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Doing this will increase the lifespan of your fork seals and bushings while contributing to a better ride.
  3. Change the fork bushings—Many riders often replace the oil and seals in their bike without doing the bushings. As a result, the seals leak shortly after. When you replace your fork oil, also replace the bushings to improve the lifespan of your motocross suspension.
